From the shadows of human trafficking to an activist – Itohan Okundaye’s story
Photographs by Anna Kuokkanen 16.5.-10.6.2022Nigerian Itohan Okundaye became a victim of human trafficking at age 16 and was forced into prostitution in Italy. Eight years later, she arrived in Finland as an asylum seeker.
Okundaye has talked about her experiences in public, and by setting a bold example she has shown that even a former victim of human trafficking can be a social influencer and initiator of change.
