Finnish ABC

This group gathers every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 12 am. It is open for everyone who wants to learn basic Finnish. This diverse and low threshold language group is led by voluntary language guides who help the students learn the language. Learning is both individual and interactive. The language guide does not have to be a teacher. In the learning situation you go through the learning material, look for answers to the questions and get to know the language according to the needs of the learner. Everyone who is interested in working as a voluntary language guide are welcome to join the ABC group.

Participants are mostly immigrants and refugees.  Volunteers can take care of any participants’ while participants are learning Finnish. The aim of ABC group is to support immigrant’s language learning and integration into Finland.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a repetition group (Toisto), in which you can learn Finnish basics effectively within a safe environment. In the group you listen, speak and repeat. This method is suitable for all people whether they are academically educated or illiterate.
